HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR TATTOO
Saran Wrap/gauze

-
With clean hands, remove after 1 hour or as soon as you are home & wash your tattoo
-
Don’t leave the wrap on for longer than necessary
Saniderm/second skin

-
You can keep the wrap on for up to 5 - 7 days
-
Make sure water doesn’t seep into your bandage, if so remove immediately and wash your tattoo
-
When removing, gently peel the wrap with clean hands, under warm running water to help loosen the adhesive
-
It is normal to see ink/plasma pooling inside of the bandage after your session. If the wrap begins to leak, wash and dry the tattoo. You can change it to a new one immediately or leave it unwrapped

How to clean your tattoo

-
Gently wash the tattoo with unscented soap under warm water
-
Pat the tattoo dry with a clean paper towel or air dry
-
Apply a thin layer of unscented lotion to the tattoo immediately or after a few days once your tattoo starts to feel ‘tight’
-
You want to wash your tattoo at least twice a day

Dos:

-
Keep your tattoo clean and dry
-
Moisturize your tattoo when it feels ‘tight’ or when you feel it is dry
-
Wear something clean, loose, and breathable to keep it covered if there is no bandage on your tattoo when you are out and about
-
Apply sunscreen AFTER your tattoo is fully healed to keep the ink vibrant
Don’ts:

-
Don’t touch your tattoo! If it is itchy, scratching can potentially pull out ink
-
Don’t over moisturize your tattoo or expose to direct sunlight
-
No bathing, swimming, submerging in water for at least 2 - 3 weeks
-
No excessive sweating or tight restrictive clothing in the tattooed area
-
No exercise for at least 2 - 3 weeks. This can cause the tattoo to open up during the healing which may prolong the process and increase the risk of infection
